Childe Of Nature from Claimer to Breeders Cup

Today at Woodbine the weather was perfect and the turf course came back firm with at least two 2 year olds getting ready to stamp their ticket into the Breeders Cup. In the filly version of the race all 12 horses went postward and the public made Last Train To Tulsa the luke warm betting choice. As the gates opened all the horses got out well but Narly Kruz showed the most early pace from the outside post to take the lead ¼ mile into the race. Laffin Babe used up just enough speed to get over to the rail from the 7 post and was sitting in 2^nd place. What A Bargain was sitting in 3^rd with Unintentional and Royal Phooey close by in 4^th and 5^th respectively. Halfway through the race Narly Kruz was still leading and had moved over closer to the rail and Laffin Babe was still in second riding the rail. Royal Phooey had moved up into 3^rd place but was racing a bit wide because What A Bargain and Unintentional were inside of her not allowing her to move over. After ¾ of the race Narly Kruz was still on the lead and actually pulling away from the rest of the field, was she going to be able to take this field gate to wire? Royal Phooey had moved into a clear 2^nd but did not appear to be doing enough at this time to run down the leader. There was a group of horses behind this but Childe Of Nature appeared to be moving the best of the group but was there going to be enough time to catch this leader? The answer was yes; she had just enough room to run down this long time leader and passed her within the final .3 furlongs to take the win. Narly Kruz held on well for 2^nd and Last Train From Tulsa picked her way through traffic to finish a closing 3^rd. Owner Night Rider Stables has to be thrilled with the run he got today from Childe Of Nature, where he took a $16.000 claim and turned her into a Breeders Cup horse.
