1 OP Whitmore Stakes (GIII)
$250.000 4yo&Up 6f Dirt 122lbs
I tried to get cute in the handicapping department, and it bit me… oh well… We did have the winner in Saturday’s Whitmore Stakes and I think quite a few people did as Pan Farms takes the win with Chisel, and the bay 4yo colt got back to his roots, sprinting… so, it was an all-call performance, and even at this distance, they were closing in on him as they got to the wire. By Neon Wolf – Rock Onn by Lettucerocku, the reining Sprint Champion set a torrid pace, stopping the clock in a very quick 1:08.54 and scoring by a neck. Congrats to the connections.
Everest, from the Mo Mentum Farm, pressed the winner throughout and was gaining late, taking home the second money. He’s been a very handy horse since switching over to this sharp outfit and is certainly a speedster to keep an eye on.
Maxmillion Farm takes home the show bucks as Crush Rush closed in from mid-pack in the late stages to grab that loot… a gelding that seems to always bring home a check, this was a very solid effort. It was another neck to Dorian Gray, from Mb Stables, getting the minor share. Only two lengths covered the field of nine, the OP oval was listed as Fast and we had no scratches.
