Closers Were Electric in The Vosburgh at AQU

The Vosburgh – Grade III
7 furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $250.000 Three-Year-Old And Upward. At AQU

1st      Electric                     Angelos Stable              9.40-1 (HRP) 4-1 (SRF)

That is some hot Electric! I called him high in this race, and that he was. It was a beautiful sight to see a seven-year-old come from tenth at the far turn and storm through for a quarter-length victory, second grade three stakes win in a row. I expected a lot more from Edward The Good, but he got too far back and couldn’t close up, probably the distant post. Electric was my next choice and there he was… quite the bolt.

2nd      My Tomorrows              Maxmillion Farm           4.65-1 (HRP) 8-1 (SRF)

Well, this makes sixteen of seventeen in the money and more importantly the first time to place in a graded stakes race for the lightly raced four-year-old, and he did it smartly coming from eighth out of the chute to close smoothly to reach within a length of the winner at the wire.

3rd      Waterville                 Luz International              9.40-1 (HRP) 20-1 (SRF)

Well, Waterville answered my question: how is he at 7 furlongs with graded company? Just fine, thank you, with a close up third in graded company, and he did it in spectacular fashion coming from tenth at the top of the stretch to within a half-length at the wire. I mean, these were all closers, but he looked fastest of all as they hit the finish line.

4th     Individuation                Mb Stables               3.60-1 (HRP) 6-1 (SRF)

The grand champion Individuation ran his usual race designed to win stalking the pace out of the chute, working his way into contention down the backstretch and taking the lead coming home, only this time as he started to pull away to add win number thirteen, he was literally swarmed by closers of every stripe and wound up a close fourth before he had a chance to react to the attack.
