Though most of not all of these small field stakes races look very similar we do seem to have entered the sweet spot as far as this new much adjusted race engine goes. First it was the front runners that didn’t last like they did originally and then the stalkers seem to lose their advantage and now unless you break into last you even seem to have a chance as a closer if you are good enough. This filly certainly was good enough today and in stark contrast to her last two runs she flew home and won in hand. She has now won as a front runner and as a deep closer which is a good record to have going forward and if the trainer can find some consistency she looks to have a bright future.

2nd       Theres No Doubt         Angelos Stable          Cedillo A

Looked to have the race engines choice of transit position in the bag and i was just waiting for her to pull away for the win but though she did everything right no-one expected the flying finish of Cmonyall least of all her. This was another good performance by the ultra consistent filly.

3rd        Legs For Days         Bigchief Stables        Maldonado E

As soon as she went to the front we knew she wouldn’t win so it was just a matter of where she ended up and she actually did really well to end up a battling third. This is the third time in a row she has made the running and looked a little weary at the end so this wasn’t unexpected but she was only having her sixth start so i am sure she will continue to strengthen up.

4th        Commanding Trait      Gdp Inc       Gonzalez Ru

Faded into fourth off the stalk but ran pretty well for a filly that only won her maiden at claiming level last time out.
