The Megahertz-Grade III
SA Race 3 1m Turf Stake
Purse $100.000 For Fillies & Mares
Four Years Old & Up
1st Commanding Faith, trained by Crocker Ggs
After the break Maldonado move her right to the rail where she sat 2 lengths behind the two pace setters. She remained in that spot down the back stretch and looked very comfortable tracking a modest pace. As they entered the turn she angled off the rail and started to make up ground looking like a winner the whole way. By the top of the stretch she had pulled even with the leaders and from there she would pull off to an easy 3 length win.
2nd Wednesday, trained by Fractious
Broke 2nd but gradually moved up and took a half-length lead exiting the first turn. Maintained that advantage down the backstretch while setting modest fractions. Was no match for the winner when challenged for the lead but was able to maintain the place.
3rd Tyrion Targaryen, trained by Nakamura Stables
Broke on top but was content to let Wednesday move up and take the lead. Stayed a half-length off that one all the way down the backstretch but when asked for more was unable to overtake her. Was never threatened for the show.
4th Decimal, trained by Establo Pichon
Went right to the back at the start and stayed there the entire trip never threatening the top 3.
Summary
This was one of the easiest wins you will see here at HRP and I would expect to see the winner stepping back up in class in her next race.
