5 WO Nassau Stakes (GII)
$175.000 4yo&Up F&M 1m Turf 122lbs +penalties
I don’t know if I was more surprised by Commanding Jane being dismissed at 18/1 odds or that she ran off to win by daylight… don’t get me wrong, she was my second choice, but… wow, what a win, taking the Nassau Stakes (GIII) as much the best. Making every call a winning one, the Serenity Stables’ trained filly just opened up and won at ease, stopping the clock in 1:374 for the one mile turf stakes, on a soft WO turf course. Rules Are Madness closed to take the second spot, but this one was never in doubt. Unmistakable was third in the field of five.
Here’s The Field –
Commanding Jane is a 4yo bay filly by Commanding Attention – Hard Jane, by Hardline, and she was bred in Cal by her owner, Serenity Stables. This was her fifth win from fourteen starts, third this season, and she now shows lifetime earnings of $311.610. This filly really seems to be in fine form and must be on your watch list. Congrats to the connections!

Commanding Jane broke alertly, set the pace throughout, never challenged. Rules Are Madness rated back, responded when asked, no threat to the winner while second best. Unmistakable tracked the pace, best of rest. Certain Vessel had some early interest, tired. Investment Return trailed throughout.
