Maxmillion Farm continues to prove that he is the Turf Titan ( Thresh has trademarked all the grass titles already ) as he took his sprint regular runner Steak And Potatoes, stretched him out to a miler in the Smarty Jones, and the horse just kept on coming to the wire in a final time of 1:35.04.

Eleven different trainers have laid claim to the Smarty Jones over the years, and hopefully Max and Steak And Potatoes can over come the curse of this event this season, and make a bold shot at one if not all of the Triple Crown races.
I know I generally like to step away from sprinters going long in their first race at a route, but it was just like Max to prove me wrong with this talented sophomore, and now with three wins in four starts since the Jackson was pulled from this trainers pockets, it seems he has him going in the right direction for this season. Will be interesting to see which path Steak And Potatoes takes for his next venture. Breeder Greeko Holdem was definitely hoping that his entry of half brother Far Laugh would find a better placing in the end then a three-way tie for ninth.
Mb Stables once again sent post time favorite Groovy out to the early lead as he had done when he tackled the Gr. II Remsen, and while it was looking like he was going to steal the show, Steak And Potatoes had other plans down the lane.
Another fast closer who found an opening in the late stages was One Zero ( Chili King Stables ) who has been showing a late running style in his past three starts, and not sure whether or not if the Lasix was necessary for this event. Be interesting to see him tackle a longer event like the Gr. III Palm Beach at GP next month, as I think the eight and a half or nine panel distance should play right into his wheelhouse. Definitely should be more respect for him then the 38-1 odds he received here.
The final share would go to Tiratzo’s Black Spade. Came into this event with back to back victories, and with the help of Bejarano in the irons, brought him around for a respectable finish.
