Competitive Valdale Stakes Will Take Some Winning

Valdale Stakes
TP Race #3 6 1/2f Dirt Stake
Purse $125.000 For Fillies Three Years Old.

1 People Easer Mb Stables Cedillo A 124 —

The winner of four from six, she looks attractive from the inside gate but does have to carry a penalty for her win in the Stewart Manor. She looks much improved for a tactic change as she has made all in her last two and looked very strong to the line, but both of those wins came from outside draws, so she would’ve had help from the outside speed push. Hailing from the undisputed champion of HRP, she looks an obvious winning chance.

2 Delilahs Den Simmer Down Stable Jimenez A 122 —

She has run two good seconds in this grade, so gets in here without a penalty which could be a big advantage. The winner of four from nine she is a closer, so she will need the race engine to do her some favors to get the timing right but if it works to her advantage, she is certainly good enough to win. She will be rock hard fit with a run just three weeks ago.

3 Dupixent Night Rider Stables Moncada I 122 —

Bought for $100.000 after two free track wins, she has proved in her two efforts for the new owner that she is certainly much better than a free track horse. A super effort in the Letellier Memorial saw her beaten a nose in a blanket finish and that game effort saw her given a chance at the KYO qualifier, The Silverbulletday Stakes. Stalking the lead, she was looked good until the trip found her out and, in the end, weakened a little into fourth. It was still a good effort and back in trip today I think she will be very competitive. Another that is rock hard fit.

4 Super Party Team 7 Illusions Contreras L 122 —

Aimed pretty high when taking on the KY Juvenile as a maiden and ran down the field although she was making ground at the end. After that she went back to maidens winning a decent one on this track just over a week ago. This race comes pretty quick after the maiden win, but the trainer clearly thinks she will be ready.

5 Profiler Arq Racingfarms Saez G 124 —

Carries a penalty for her narrow win in the LA Jewel, she is an on-pace type who needs to get to the front to be at her best. A little disappointing last time when taken on, she may well get some help from the outside speed push so this wider gate may be an advantage. If she gets away quickly and can cross early, she could run well for a long way.

6 Center Of Gravity Alydar Stables Doyle S 124 —

She was bought for $200.000 after a game win in the ELP Juvenile and was then sent over longer trips by the new owner in the hope of finding a place in the KYO picture. After a very good run in the Pocahontas where she ran a fine second though she has been a little disappointing. She ran OK to be seventh in the BC Juvenile Fillies but wasn’t as strong at the end as she had been in the Pocahontas, so the trainer brings her back in trip to find her mojo today. The class horse in the race, a return to form would not be a surprise.

7 The Sibyl Knows Aer Stables Talamo J 122 —

One run and one win you don’t get better than that. She gets the wide draw today, but she coped with that in her maiden win showing good speed so maybe it won’t be as bad as it could be for her. Her works say she is up to a race like this, but with plenty of pace inside her she will need to find a place to slot in to have a chance of remaining unbeaten.

SUMMARY

A good competitive field where Center Of Gravity looks good on paper but there are a few that could be better than ungraded stakes level. With the penalty system, the likes of The Sibyl Knows, Dupixent and Delilahs Den come right into this, and I suspect one of those may use the weight advantage to take the win.
