Gets in with a low weight thanks to being a filly but at 16hh she is certainly big enough to live with the boys and the 3Lbs may give her a half decent chance. A game second in maiden company last time she ran like the mile would suit and stranger things have happened in racing.
2 Timber Rattler John Henry Chirinos R
At the other end of the scale this colt carries 122Lbs thanks to a penalty for winning the NM Classic Juvenile last time and should be able to confirm his superiority over third placed Thank Helen from this draw. The real question with all of these is the trip but this one has won over a mile in the mud so he may have the best chance over all despite top weight.
3 Thank Helen End Run Farm Eikleberry R
Represents a similar chance to Timber Rattler after finishing third to that one in the NM Classic Juvenile two lengths back, she gets a pound for each length she was beaten today. On the plus side he was running on strongly at the end and that could be a sign that this trip will suit him better. Twice a winner before that his works are pretty good and he will probably be the best hope of the stables two runners.
4 Undisputed John Henry Juarez A J Jr
He has raced in good company since breaking maidens finishing fairly close up in both the Best Pal and the DMR Futurity. He was very dissapointing in the NM Thoroughbred Futurity when beaten a long way in last place but a recent mile work suggests he has improved from that. A bit of an unknown quantity.
5 La Grande Italia Drabfantasy Laviolette B S
Close up in a maiden on debut he was again close up in the Copper Top Futurity last tie out but remains a maiden. The wide gate wont help but he did put up a decent mile work at PRX and that may just make him the dark horse of the race.
SUMMARY
This may end up another race between Timber Rattler and Thank Helen but if the odds are tasty i wouldnt mind a little win bet on La Grande Italia.
