1 Summer Sun, trained by Chili King Stables
This three year old has been buzzing around this sort of grade for a while now but has yet to really set the world on fire. The season started well enough with a good win in The Wonder Again back in March after some good place efforts in ungraded stakes. She then took on graded class in the Senorita but failed to keep up in the second half of the race and finished fourth. A couple of average efforts saw he have a go at the grade one First Lady last time out but she again looked a little outclassed and finished sixth and last. Her main hope is that she has been given a big enough share of the three year old speed boost to get her in this but i fear she may again come up a bit short.

2 The Patriot Filly, trained by Threshold
Another three year old she is a dour stayer who usually arrives late in her races. A word from her trainer says they are going to try and catch the race enigine sleeping and get on the pace so it will be interesting to see how that change of tactics see’s her fare. Apart from tactics she has some fair form albeit a bit thin on the ground finishinga  strong second in the Regret and closing late to get within four lengths of the winner in the Sand Point. She may not be good enough today but if teh tactics pay off we may see a good effort.

3 Edna Krabappel, trained by Paradise Stable
One of the best named horses at HRP, she, unlike her namesake is a pretty filly who has shown nice improvement recently. Well placed through her allowances she has won four races this year and looked pretty good when finally taking the step up in class in the Autumn Miss Stakes last time out. Keeping on strongly she just failed by a head to catch the winner in a tight finish. She ticks plenty of boxes in this race, a late improving three year old, in good form and working strongly, she could well turn out to be the answer in a tricky race.

4 Southern Atheno, trained by La Canada Racehorses
Another three year old it seems like the older generation has run away and hid from these late season stakes races and she is another who looks to have every chance in an even field. A winner of the ungraded Shiraz last time out she has been super consistent all year and with some very strong works recently looks to be the one to beat. She can race on the speed so could snatch an easy lead here with so many closers in teh race and the tacticians will have to look out for that.

5 Yellow Submarine, trained by Tirstar Stables
Hasnt raced since March but her works suggest she may be sharp enough to get into teh action.A winner of five races her last start was in the grade three Orchid where she kept on from a long way back for a nice fifth place finish.
With a recent run you would give her a big shout but in a close race her fitness has to be taken into account.

SUMMARY
Southern Atheno may just scrape home in a close looking race and we may end up seeing another one length covers the finish HRP special.
