1st Crack Bound Gdp Inc Murrill M
This race had a bit of an upside down look to it as the rank outsider won and the odds on favorite finished last but off tracks can throw up results like that and to be fair to the odds monkeys this result was a hard one to predict. However as i said in the preview for this race horses at HRP can often show rapid movement up the improvement curve in their works and this one did just that with a strong work at PRX on the 1st November. Though a bit tenuous given her lack of success beyond sprints and last placing in a LAD Allowance last time that improvement looks to have trumped all other negatives and she took this race with the ease of a routing regular. She had two lengths to spare at the line and looked like she could’ve made it ten with another quarter to run so whatever the trainer did to turn her around they should bottle it and do it again.
2nd Victory General Spankys Barn Gaffalione T
Well beaten by the winner but this filly certainly improved in her second run for the trainer after being well beaten last time out.
3rd Profoundly Pretty Asgar Corrales G
Stalked the pace but weakened out of it down the stretch hanging on for third in a fair effort.
4th Captivating Mb Stables Saez L
The key here was the fact that the pace on an off track was too fast for the stalkers to finish off the race and that often happens if someone uses a faster pace instruction as the race engine doesn’t seem to adjust the pace according to the ground conditions. That was more obvious for the odds on favorite and early leader than this one but what would’ve been a perfect stalk for Captivating turned into a lung buster and she faded away at the end.
