Well, there is a rule of thumb in these longer distance races and that is if you can get into a clear lead the AI of the others seems to forget you are there and you end up winning. It would certainly be unfair to say that is the only reason that this horse won, but she has done it three times in a row now from the lowest of Pay Tracks to the highest and it seems to be a tactic that she loves. The pace, winning time and margin were also very similar to that of her victory at TUP two months ago showing how very similar the racing levels are at HRP these days. So just how good is she? Well, she is certainly better than the $7.500 she was claimed for last year but the key to her success seems to be her running style and we don’t know whether that is anything to do with instructions or lack of them. She has gone from unsuccessful closer to stakes winning front runner, so the trainer must take plenty of credit for her success and the sky looks to be the limit for this mare.
2nd The Storm Is Here TwinTowersRacing Cedillo A
Found a nice enough position but never really seemed to worry about the runaway leader and seemed to be waiting for her to weaken rather than worrying about catching up. Plugged on for second.
3rd Drunk Pinata Keikowin Racing Wilson E J
Never really made much of a move.
4th Ginger Tiara The Sidley Stud Dettori L
Distant in fourth.
