$100.000 Stake At 7 Furlongs On Turf For Three Year Old NY Breds
A big field of eleven left the gate Sunday afternoon and Tipsy Indian headed straight for the front and set the pace for the majority of the race. In the end he was not able to hold that speed down the stretch and ended up fading off to a seventh place finish. Desmond left the gate well and sat down along the rail a couple lengths off for much of the race before making a move turning for home and skimming the rail to a narrow victory. Using the exact opposite strategy to finish a very nice second was Repose. He had a wide trip most of the way and moved even wider as they turned for home, narrowly missing the win. Crushed was able to make a move from mid pack to finish a solid third. Taking home the final piece of the pie was Abu as the post time favorite. He was near the back of the pack in the early stages of the race but was able to make his way through finishing fourth. The entire eleven horse field all finished within four lengths of each other. This was definitely one of those races you could run 100 times and get 100 different results! Congratulations to the winning owners Sharis Stable and their talented gelding Desmond on the victory!
