Dime Symphony went straight for the lead and never looked back in a dramatic gate to wire score going two turns for the first time in his career. The two-year-old gelding is now four for five in the win column and has earned just shy of $1,500.000 for Asgar. Congrats to his connections. Runner up Need Cash Now from Mb Stables ran his eyeballs out to just miss the win as he put in a terrific stretch fight and just came up a touch short. He was purchased for $200.000 earlier this year and has been a gem of consistency, never worse than second in four tries for his new connections. Preview favorite Reciprocal Rubber from Maxmillion Farm and Hurts from Royalty Stables dead heated for third place, a length back of the top two. Anybody betting on Hurts would have been throwing out plenty of superlatives as they turned for home as he appeared to get shut off while angling out, ending up in the middle of the track as he unleashed a giant run to just miss third by himself. He probably should have been even closer with a better trip.
Of the rest:
Heel Turn from Bigchief Stables was taken back off the pace today and made-up good ground in the stretch to run fifth.
Magic Fighter from Grimley made-up a decent amount of ground from midway on the turn home to run sixth in a better than looked effort.
Warrior Bay from Aer Stables ran even around the track in his first route to hold down seventh place.
Poetico from Acber Farms got a little too far back but did make up several lengths to run eighth while no threat to the top three.
The Hunter from Hunterman Stable ran ninth the whole trip without passing a horse today.
Lemon Aid from Red Fox Farms showed good early speed to the half mile pole and then tired and dropped out of it running tenth.
Haggis Glory from The Sidley Stud sat about a half dozen off the pace the whole way and dead heated for tenth place with Lemon Aid.
Control The Center from Mb Stables sat a decent enough early tracking trip but then tired soon after the half mile pole and dropped out to finish twelfth.
Apirana from Mb Stables came out a little slow and dropped six off the leaders quickly and then dropped further out of it staying about ten back most of the trip. He would up finishing thirteenth today.
Up To No Good from Riggins Racing broke last and never passed a horse running fourteenth today after putting in a solid run in the Champagne Stakes in early October. Check the veterinarians report and look for a better run next time. The post was his demise today.
Congrats to all the connections for a solid Breeder’s Cup Race.
