Do Not Disturb Crashes the Party Late in Virginia Oaks

Virginia Oaks – [KYO]

Purse $250.000 – For Fillies Three Years Old

1 1/16 Miles – Dirt

Colonial Downs – March 14, 2026

Patience paid off for Do Not Disturb as she stormed down the stretch to capture the Virginia Oaks. She went off as the 8/5 favorite and has now increased her earnings to $274.960. This win for the New Mexico homebred also rockets her up to fifth in Kentucky Oaks points. Panionios Racing gets win number one in this stakes race, as well as jockey Daniel Centeno. Although this was another one turn race, Do Not Disturb should have no problems with more distance. Going forward, an inside draw and an honest pace up front will be key to bringing out her best. Congratulations to the connections:

Winner: Do Not Disturb – (Panionios Racing, D E. Centeno) After an eight-wide trip in her last start, the daughter of Archimedes looked poised to deliver a big effort. She had an average break from the gate and settled in the third flight of runners. At the ⅜ pole, Do Not Disturb began searching for room to start her run and eventually found it approaching the quarter pole. Once a clear lane opened, she started eating up the ground with every stride. The only question was whether she could catch Miss Perfect Devil in time. This three-year-old filly certainly took a step forward at the right time as the Kentucky Oaks is just around the corner.

Second Place: Miss Perfect Devil – (La Canada Racehorses, S X. Bridgmohan) Once the gates opened, Miss Perfect Devil went straight to the front. The opening fractions were 23.03, 46.77, and 1:11.00. Sitting just to her outside was the maiden River Current, as the two fillies attempted to steal the race on the front end. There was little change in the running order until the quarter pole, where Miss Perfect Devil began to inch away. She opened up a one-length advantage at the 1/16 pole but couldn’t hold off the late charge of Do Not Disturb. Her effort shouldn’t be overlooked, and there’s no doubt she’ll be a stakes winner in the future.

Third Place: Shes Complicated – (TwinTowersRacing, M. Franco) It was a tough assignment from the start for this filly as she settled near the back of the field. Shes Complicated waited until the 5/16 pole to begin her move and started making up ground entering the stretch. In the final furlong, she encountered traffic trouble and was forced four-wide on the outside. Winning was out of the question at that point, but her late rally to finish third was still eye-catching. It was her first time running beyond a mile, and there was clearly plenty to learn. With a slightly earlier move, she should have success going forward.

Fourth Place: River Current – (Mb Stables, L. Dettori) River Current broke well from the outside and sat just off Miss Perfect Devil. She held her own for much of the race but began to fade inside the final furlong. You have to give River Current a lot of credit—she held her own against rivals with far more experience and is still only a maiden. It wasn’t a complete misfire, and her trainer likely learned plenty about this filly. There should be more stakes opportunities in this three-year-old’s future, but clearing the maiden ranks should be the next hurdle.
