Whitmore Stakes 6F Dirt Grade 3
Purse $250.000 For Four Year Olds And Upward
Oaklawn Park, Hot Springs Arkansas
Dorian Gray from Mb Stables won last year’s Breeder’s Cup Sprint by one length over Creepy Romantic from Maxmillion Farm. Both horses have started once since and both of those starts were wins. “Gray” finished 2025 with a win in the Elite Power Stakes, a grade three event in New York while “Romantic” won an allowance race in Florida to kick off his 2026 campaign. “Romantic” draws the rail here and “Gray” comes out of gate four. Slight edge to “Romantic” from the rail but check both horses out on the track and take your pick. Hollywood Cruiser from Threshold finished fourth in last year’s Breeders Cup Sprint, his only loss in his last four starts. The eight-year-old is getting a little long in the tooth but blasted low level allowance horses at Charles Town to start his 2026 season in wire-to-wire fashion in what can best be described as a public workout. He adds contention to the heat for sure and should be a square price. Electric from Angelos Stable has been kept busy since his fifth-place finish in said Breeder’s Cup Sprint. Already gone to post four times since that tenth-place finish. A fourth place in an allowance race and then three straight wins, including his last start in The Palos Verdes Stakes. On the way back up the ladder at age eight?
Of the rest:
I Want It All from Luz International picks a tough place to attempt the hat trick. “All” ran arguably the best race of his career in his last start, The Bold Ruler Stakes in New York. Rested since that race in early November, he makes his five-year-old debut here.
Daddys A Baller another runner from Luz International has hit impressive numbers in his last two starts and might fall into a good trip here if they push too hard on the front. Still will need a gut check at crunch time.
Nebula Warrior from Broken Spoke Stables is a four-year-old facing a salty task here. Would need career best by a ton to get a piece, even with the solid runs in his last two starts noted.
Admiral Knight from TwinTowersRacing has won once in his last five starts, an allowance race at Elis Park since being bought privately for lunch money in May of last year. Hardly a recipe for a win in this.
