Opening day at SAR and the young ladies took center stage, but it was Night Mare Racing’s Down On The Beat that was the star of The Schuylerville, using her late kick to push by the pace, closing well down the far outside and going under the wire clear by what appeared to be more than length to take the win against a very nice group of 2yo fillies. Both The Green Card and I had her in out picks, so no surprise, although she was almost 6/1 on the tote. She Has It All from the D J C Racing Stables also showed a late turn of foot, closing down the center of the track to nab the place. It was another length to pace-setter Haukea in third, from the Acber Farms outfit, then another length to Mb Stables’ Aquitaine in fourth. The final running time was a new stakes record, 1:09.42, and six lengths covered the field of eleven, as we had a late scratch, Chilukki.
