Fillies And Mares Three Years Old and Upward

This race always seemed destined to see a hot pace up front. Three of the six horses jumped out of the gate with speed on their mind and the battle up front developed immediately. The three-way speed duel set the race up perfectly for the eventual winner Breath Of The Threat who stalked right behind just drafting off of her rivals and smacking her lips.
Winner: Breath Of The Threat (Winning Link Stable/R.M. Hernandez) Breath Of The Wild/Threat (Charlemagne) Sat the perfect trip just off of the three pacesetters who battled in front of her until the stretch drive. Despite having to do the stretch shuffle for no apparent reason in front of a huge hole she was able to take advantage of her trip and wore down a stubborn foe prevailing by a neck at the wire.
Second: Scrumdiddlyumptious (La Canada Racehorses/T.W. Bacon) Wonka Wizardry/Pop Tart (Sweet Sweat) Joined in a three-way battle up front as soon as the bell rang and despite having to go three wide around the turn, she proved to be the most tenacious of the three and battled it out all the way to the wire. Tough filly did all of the heavy lifting and almost hung on for the win.
Third: Flint Off (Asgar/D.E. Centeno) Sweat It Off/The Rube (Crossing The Rubicon) Sat at the back of the field off of the speed duel up front. She put forth a rally going widest of all in the stretch and fell short by just two necks in a nice return to form.
Fourth: In Progress (TwinTowersRacing/F. Geroux) County Medical/Never Started (First To the Finish) She engaged out of the gate in the pace up front but could never get to the lead and open up alone on the font as she had in her two earlier efforts. Held on for fourth missing by just one length.
