Friday’s action-packed card continues with The Allaire Distaff Stakes-G3 for fillies and mares three years-old and up.  The distaffers will go a mile-and-an-eighth over the main track in pursuit of the winner’s share of the $150.000 purse.  Mb Stables (2018, 2020) has taken two of these to top the trainer standings and J.R. Velazquez (2006, 2012, 2013) has outrun all of his HRP jockey rivals.

While The Allaire Distaff-G3 is run at weights-for-age conditions, we didn’t get any sophomores to sign on for this, thus all six combatants will carry the 124-pounds assigned without penalty.  Although it is a short field, this one could go any number of ways.  Here are the half dozen ladies who will contest The Allaire Distaff Stakes-G3:

#1 Chance In Graceland (Night Rider Stables/F.T. Alvarado): 5yo was claimed out of her seasonal bow for $15.000, and she’s rallied strongly for a 2nd and 1st in two starts for the new barn in the allowance ranks.  This is a different kettle of fish entirely as we have G1 winners and GSWs in this group.  Gets tested for class, but she seems to be running nicely for the new barn and she will be moving late.

#2 Drink Me Pretty (Mb Stables/L. Saez): Last win came in an October G1, but she seems to be rounding back into form with an allowance 3rd and G3 4th in two starts this season.  Comes right back to the G3 level for this and she should be tighter this time around.  With this draw, look for her to get rail position fairly quickly and could sit an excellent trip.  Big chance.

#3 Speedy Ginger (The Sidley Stud/M. Franco): 6yo took a G3 handicap in ’21 finale before going on the shelf for three months.  Came back with an allowance victory in March before settling for the place last time against listed foes.  Should be ready to fire in the third since the break she looks like she will be involved up top from the jump.  Her times are in line with past winners, so she has to be respected.

#4 Starship Twister (TwinTowersRacing/J.R. Velazquez): 5yo has been close against graded company more than a few times but she’s never gotten her picture taken after any of them.  Almost wired G1 foes at OP in her latest effort and she does not care to put her stamp on a race soon after the start.  It looks like she should have plenty of company, but, as we’ve seen, sometimes they just keep running.  Dangerous on the front end.

#5 Forever Phooey Party (Night Rider Stables/F. Lynch): One of only two in here entering off of a win, this lass took a $100.000 handicap last month.  5yo is a multiple G2 winner and has shown that she can get the job done using various trips.  She wired the AQU group last out, but that may be tricky from this spot.  Has been a tad inconsistent as of late, but her best could get the job done again.

#6 Miss Steel Mazula (Nakamura Stables/J. Pimentel): Took a brief break after missing by a length in November’s BC before debuting this season with a G3 victory.  5yo has had two close misses since and appears in fine form for this task.  This post isn’t ideal, but she’s proven versatile enough that she should be able to work out a trip.  Should be right there when the money’s on the line and is the one to beat.

Final Analysis: 2-6/6-2 as the G1 winners just appear a bit better right now.  Good luck to everyone involved in The Allaire Distaff Stakes-G3 at PIM!
