2 IND The IND Derby (GIII)
$300.000 3yo 1 1/`6m Dirt 122lbs
Quite the race… yes..yes… quite the race. Edward The Good was great, stalking the pace and pressing past in the final furlong to take Saturday’s IN Derby (GIII) by a half-length, as the Fractious owned gelding set a new track record for the mile and a sixteenth distance, getting the job done in 1:40.94. Derby Dreams, sent off at 22/1 odds, set the pace, which is his style, but didn’t have an answer late, settling for the second spot, a length better than Jameson in third.
The embarrassing part, look at the payouts… what a joke, and another three-horse dh for fourth, and I’m not even going to discuss it, because it’s fixable and the game won’t make the necessary changes to correct this silliness.
Four lengths covered the field of seven.
