  14   The Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (GII)

Don’t be confused, boys and girls… nobody on the planet considers this the second leg of the filly TC.  But it is a nice group of eleven sophomore fillies we have, set to go a mile and an eighth in the filthy city of Bal’mur, and we look at the field for The Black–Eyed Susan Stakes (GIII).  It’s a horrible drink and an ugly flower, but I digress… nothing really jumps out at me in this one, but I do like the far outside post and Give Up On Style.  She closed fast in that runner-up effort in the GP Oaks, so the distance seems to be something she will want.  Another that seems to like the distance is Nicolette… although she was sixth as the favorite in the Gazelle (GIII), the rain may have been her undoing that day.  This is a spot for her to get the train back on the tracks and make some noise.  Another like that VA Oaks race, yeah, I’d love to see that.  I like beer, but in this race, Love Beer should be a consideration.  She has tactical speed and although she only has a maiden win, she’s been close in a number of big races… could today be her day?  There’re a few others with a puncher’s chance, so keep those tickets loose.
