1 Insist on Perfection (Maxmillion Farm)
Won in optional claiming level last out at SA. Graded winner of the Troy in August but hasn’t been back to the winner’s circle at that level since. This should be a good spot for him.
2 Mystery (Fractious)
No win for this six-year-old gelding since July. Came close in allowance company at CD. Looking to get back on track with a win here.
3 Stealth Combat (Fractious)
Four-year-old gelding making his stakes debut. Put together a string of in-the-money performances that stretched back to last April at maiden special weight and allowance level that ended last out. Could be in the mix.
4 Panther Pie (Black N Gold Stable)
Riding on a three-race winning streak, this five-year-old gelding Seems to be at the top of his game and should have a say in the outcome.
5 Training Wheels (Gdp Inc)
Won the Sensational Star last out and has to be considered one of the favorites based on that performance and two triple-digit SRF figures. Like his chances.
6 Lamarck (Avenue Z)
Dead heat win at allowance level last start but may be a little outclassed in this field. Needs a big effort and a good trip.
7 Prairie Lights (Allinthegate)
Put together a string of top performances last year, then faltered in his first and only start of 2023, finishing sixth and last at allowance level. Hopes to get back on track here.
8 Pray For Sunshine (Spankys Barn)
Big win in the Grade 3 Fool Handicap last out. Wired the field and earned a 100 SRF in that effort. If he can repeat that performance, he will be in the mix and a win wouldn’t be a surprise.
9 Last City (Lemax Farms)
Won the Grade 3 GP Turf Sprint two starts back after finishing off 2023 with a victory in the Stormy at DMR. Should be competitive.
10 Ancient Aliens (Fractious)
Won at allowance level last out but could do no better than 10th in his last stakes effort. Will need a big effort to compete with these.
11 Southern Fame (Mojica Racing)
Third in the Silks Run last out after back-to-back allowance wins. Working well and looks ready to run. Should have a say in the outcome.
