WOW, a big day of race at PRX both in number and stakes racing, and we look at the field for the 2023 PA Derby (GI) a mile and an eighth test for the sophomores over the north-Philly main oval.  I’m looking for Mb Stables to flip the script from the Travers (GI) and will give Wahpekute Sioux the top billing today.  He was second in that SAR race, but I think he’s a bit better on a dry surface, which this should be.  Either way, Jacks Courage won the Travers for the Big Barn, and he’s my second choice in this one.  He was second over a fast track in the Dandy, but he may just be getting to his best stride and may nail down another win.  I’ll take the third-place finisher from the Travers and put Quiet Return in the middle of this one as well.  The KYD (GI) winner has been close in all of his races since the first Saturday in May, and he may be ready to flex his muscle yet again in this one. 

It’s a great lookin’ field, so let’s grab a cold snack and get ready for what should be one heck of a race.
