#1 Force Of The Shark (Arindel/D. Davis): Recent winner of back-to-back races gets another crack at this level. His first four tries, he’s returned home 2nd, 5th, 2nd, 4th, respectively, but all of those were around one-turn. If he duplicates the time from his last race, where he carried the same 122-pounds as he will this time, he’ll set a new standard for this NY bred stake.
#2 Dwindle (Mb Stables/Mar. Garcia): KYD participant took a G3 in February and a very nice CD allowance in June for his two victories this season. His four OTB finishes came against graded company, so he should definitely appreciate the supposed drop down to statebred foes.
#3 Magz (Gdp Inc/J.C. Ferrer): Another G3 winner this season, this guy also took a $100.000 race in this class back in March. Caught an off surface three weeks ago at MNR, but gives some confidence to come right back at this same 9-furlong trip and there’s nothing wrong with this middle-of-the-field draw.
#4 Jump The Line (Mb Stables/F. Prat): Colt enters fresh off of a win at FL where he defeated similar foes in a $150.000 state bred event. His three wins this season are the most for anyone in the field, and his (stud) value may continue to rise with another victory here.
#5 Lucky Lefty (Mo Mentum Farm/T. Gaffalione): Has taken five cracks at winners since breaking his maiden in March, but has three runner-up finishes and a 3rd to show for it. This will be the best group he’s faced, but the work tab says he’s never been better than he is right now.
Final Analysis: We’re playing a large 5-4 exacta, but it wouldn’t be all-too-surprising if neither were in the exacta. Good luck to all of those running in The Albany!
