Endeavor Packed With Talent

The Endeavor BC – Grade 3 – $175.000

TAM – 1 1/16 Mile – Turf

For Fillies and Mares Four Years Old and Upward

February 4, 2023

This field is full of exceptional females, and finding a favorite is tough. If there is one standout, Lady Hilltopper could be the one to beat if she stays true to form. On Solid Ground and Painville both come in riding three-race win streaks. Tessas Star lacks experience, but she looks like the real deal. Then there’s Love Of The People and Perfectly Pink… Like I said, a field of exceptional females.

Here’s the field:

1 Stinky Rene (TwinTowersRacing) Making her 2023 debut after winning the Red Carpet Handicap at DMR last start. Seems to like longer distances, but she does have a win in allowance company at this distance. Like her chances here.

2 Lipsticker (Our Athletes) Won an allowance at PRX at a mile last out. In the money in graded company but hasn’t been able to get a win at this level. If she brings her A game, she could have a say in this one.

3 On Solid Ground (Oquinn Farm) Coming in on a three-race winning streak that includes the Grade 3 Frankel Stakes. Hard to pick against this one. Look for her close to the lead early and could be there at the wire.

4 Loihi (Martyparty) Won an allowance at GP at 1 ½ mile last start. Graded winner, but hasn’t been to the winner’s circle at this level since June. Another one to look for near the lead early.

5 Lotta Carnival (Oval Express Farms) Broke her maiden last January and hasn’t had a win since. Multiple graded placed though and just might be due for a win. Will have her work cut out for her here.

6 Perfectly Pink (Freakshow) Won The NY (Grade 1) in June and followed that up with a string of in-the-money finishes in graded company, including a third in the BC Fillies & Mares Turf. Makes her 2023 debut here, and it could be a winning one.

7 Tessas Star (Glorify Stables) Not as much experience as others in this field, but the fact that she has only one finish worse than third in six starts earns her some respect. Looking for her first graded win and could get it here.

8 Lady Hilltopper (Black N Gold Stable) Multiple graded winner at distances of a mile to a mile and an eighth. Won the Grade 3 Honeymoon in May. Likes to come from off the pace, which could be a problem in a large field. Still wouldn’t count her out.

9 Love Of The People (Mb Stables) Won back-to-back graded stakes before finishing up the track in the Grade 1 Taylor last out at 1 ¼ mile. Should like this spot and the distance better. Another one that needs a good trip to get to the wire first. If she gets that, she should be in the mix.

10 Painville (Mo Mentum Farm) Won the $150.000 Ladies Handicap at AQU last out making her three for three in her last three starts. Looked very impressive wiring the field and winning by six in the LCD Ladies in state-bred company. But this is a tough spot. Will need a big effort.

Picks: 8-6-9
