CD Race #5 $225.000
2YOs 119 Lbs (plus penalties) 6 Furlongs
#1 Awad (D J C Racing Stables/J.R. Velazquez 119): Broke the maiden for a $50.000 tag in late May. Has been working well since and retains the services of one of the best in the game in the saddle.
#2 Good Jaw (Arindel/R.M. Hernandez 119): Winner on debut back in April. Picks the biggest spot available for his 1st start versus winners. Nothing to see on the work tab since May.
#3 English Farley (Arkansas Elite/Mar. Garcia 119): Debuted with a 3rd before winning nearly four-weeks later. Hasn’t run since that WO score; however, the June 11 move suggests he belongs.
#4 Southern Oak (Jive Inc/A. Beschizza 121): A perfect 2-for-2, he bested $100.000 SRP foes last out, and he gets two extra pounds in the saddle. Been off for two months, but has stayed busy in the am.
#5 Imperfecto (Night Rider Stables/J. Leparoux 119): 5-length debut winner was tagged for $25.000 that day. Conditioner should know what he has, and he’s picked this spot for his first encounter with winners.
#6 Killed To Death (Tockyocky/D.E. Centeno 119): Colt took it on the chin in his debut, but he proved a quick study with the May win at 2nd asking. Nothing on the tab since, but trainer knows that EPR is the name of the game.
#7 West Of The Bay (LionKing Stables/M. Murrill 119): Gelding picked-up a check in his debut before scoring just 15-days later. Took June off in preparation for this encounter and has some speed in his game.
#8 Racket Art (Alydar Stables/T. Gaffalione 119): Colt didn’t fire at first asking, but he learned quick with an impressive win 2nd go. Work tab screams that he is a serious player in his first crack at winners.
#9 Freakie The Ghost (Mb Stables/L. Saez 121): Gelding is another that is 2-for-2, and he took a $200.000 stake here back in May. That score gets him two extra pounds (and a new owner), but he’s done nothing wrong so far.
#10 Hereslookinatya (Nakamura Stables/J. Loveberry 119): Colt debuted with a 3rd at GG back in April before returning last month with a front-running score. Work tab should have him plenty fit for this assignment.
#11 Vanggelis (Riggins Racing/P. Lopez 119): Gelding took his April debut against WV-Breds and was purchased for $250.000 just six days later. Another that has been away for a bit but works look legit.
#12 Chief Style Warrior (Williams9/F. Geroux 121): Gelding took his debut before hitting the board in a $200.000 stake here. Changed hands for $55.000 in late May, and immediately won a $150.000 stake for the new barn. Carries two extra pounds, but no doubting that he’s a runner.
#13 (AE) Prioritise Please (Asgar/TBD 119): Took his debut in early April in his only start to date. Work tab suggests he’s a player if he draws in.
#14 (AE) Fayette County (Dmc Racing/TBD 119): Three-length debut winner at EMD in May. He at least has experience from a wide gate as he was drawn in the 10-hole that day.
Final Analysis: With juveniles, nothing is written in ink, let alone stone. We’ll go against the stake-winners for the win and play it 8-9-2 in the 21st running of the Bashford Manor at CD. Good luck to all involved!
