Everest Reaches New Heights in The Venderbilt Handicap

The Vanderbilt Handicap – Grade I
6 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $350.00 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

1st Everest Mo Mentum Farm Lopez P

The talking horse of HRP did all the talking here running right on speed and winning by one comfortable length. Bought from Lanfranco Stable who had brought this five-year-old along very slowly, he has certainly arrived at the right stable and is now two from two and looking a very bright BC prospect. We must remember that before Mo Mentum acquired this horse, he only had one win to his name and now with three and a grade one winner is looking like a very serious racehorse.

2nd Clairvaux Threshold Salles L

Got back off a breakneck early pace and was lucky to find the rail opening up like the red sea and allowing him to run through for second place. Much improved this year; this was a good effort.

3rd Peace Pipe Mb Stables Moore R L

Couldn’t get near the lead, so settled back a bit more than in his last two and in the end couldn’t find the turn of foot down the stretch. This was a good effort by a horse that is lightly raced this year, and you would expect further improvement to put him right in contention in these top-level sprints.

4th Got Milk D J C Racing Stables Silvera Ru

The odds monkeys had this one as a short-priced favorite which was surprising considering he had the car park draw. Showing good early speed which he had lacked in a couple of earlier efforts, he stuck to his guns well for a close fourth and lost nothing in defeat. I think there is a big race in this five-year-old when things go his way.
