Was sold in February for $40.000 and prior to be sold raced in Februrary at SUN in the Hedeman Mile against NM Breds going a mile on the dirt course to finish third. His first start for his new connections was in the LA Derby Grade II at FG in March where he broke poorly and went on to finish sixth. I’m not too excited about his chances here. His SRF number is 90.5.
- Asset Class Sccj Stables Rosario J
Recently ran at KEE in April in the Grade III Coolmore Lexington Grade III at 1 1/16 mile where he sat mid pack, and came off the far turn to get up for the win. Prior to that his last win was at GP in December in an Open Allowance against Non Winners of 1 race. Should improve here today. His SRF number is 95.
- Overspender Mb Stables Velazquez J R
Ran in the Wood Memorial Grade I at today’s distance at AQU where he finished sixth. Prior to that he finished second in the TAM Derby Grade II. I expect with him dropping back down from Grade I to Grade II company, he should improve. His SRF number is 94.5.
- Admirals Aces Grimley Lezcano J
Ran at GP in the Grade I FL Derby where he finished a decent 4th. Obviously skipped the KYD, and could be prepping for the Belmont if he can get a win here. His only career win is his Maiden Special Weight victory against NY Breds in December. He needs a win to have a chance at going to the Belmont. His SRF number is 90.
- Pretty Ghost D J C Racing Stables Ortiz J L
Back in April he ran in the Grade III Spirtal at TP where he finished fourth. Prior to that he ran poorly in the $100.000 Battaglia Memorial Stakes to finish 12th. Has not been much upside to him after being sold in January to the new connections. Looking for his first win this year. His SRF number is 87.5.
- Shark Force Emerald Racing Inc Talamo J
Won an Open Allowance Non Winners of 1 race at GP in February by a neck at today’s distance. Since then he finished seventh in the SUN Derby Grade III and then went on to finish third in the Coolmore Lexington Grade III. Needs a good race here today to be competitive. His SRF number is 95.
- For The Record Barcelona Farms Velasquez C H
Finished a disappointing 11th in the SUN Derby Grade III at this distance in March. Prior to that he finished in a dead heat to be second in the El Camino Grade III at GG in February. His last win came at GG in January in the CA Derby $100.000 at 1 1/16 on the main course. Looking for another run like the El Camino Grade III he could be ready to go. His SRF number is 92.3.
- Copper Conduit Red Square Stables Bejarano R
Was up across the border at WO where in April he ran eighth in the Woodstock Stakes for a purse of $125.000 at six furlongs. He is lightly raced for a 3 year old with only 6 starts under his belt. He has only gone a route distance once, and that was three races ago at DMR on the sod in the OTJ Turf $100.00 where he finished in a dead heat for fourth. A lot of unanswered questions here. His SRF number is 85.
- Mystery Boy Heavens Own Ortiz I Jr
Finished a decent third in the SA Derby Grade I at today’s distance at SA in April with the brother Jose Ortiz. Today Irad gets the mount. Hoping he can have a repeat performance like he did in the SA Derby and the drop in class, he could do very well here. His SRF number is 95.
- Black Mojo Broken Spoke Stables Bisono J
Ran a nice third in the AR Derby Grade I in April at OP where he finished third. Prior to that he won his Maiden at SA at today’s distance. We know he likes the distance, and he did well in his third start of the year where he went on to finish third in the AR Derby. Could be a prep race for the bigger picture for Black Mojo, but as long as he doesn’t mind the outside post, I expect him to do well here with the class drop here. His SRF number is 93.5.
