Older sprinting spinsters will be the case subject matter as we take in The Derby City Distaff (GI), a seven-panel main track sprint for the ladies and we may have a few that are hoping for a wet surface, which seems likely.

I’m taking the deed to the farm and dropping it on Lady Sammyantha today… She did throw a dud in the Hurricane Bertie but bounced back to take the Vinery Madison (GI) at KEE, and with a 3/1/0 record on wet tracks, from six starts, she seems ready to put a few more bucks in the bank.

Chica Lugo changed hands after those back-to-back wins in the Wintergreen at TP, note that was a muddy track, and the Apple Blossom (GI) to nail down a big GI win.  The big barn shortens up this filly and she looks ready to keep things going. 

Let’s go to the outside post and give Lorient a chance to make a “splash” here today.  Back-to-back scores coming in to this one, taking the Correction and the Distaff Hcp (GIII) (DH), both at AQU.  She was second in her only wet track start and does have to overcome the post, but she’s good.

Note that The Green Card took Smokin Cara and Avatar, two horses that I think will bring odds to the fold… so, keep your betting eyes open!
