1st Fauci D J C Racing Stables Corrales G

Just two trainers shared the money in this race but it was D J C Racing who took the lions share of the cash with first and third. This gelding took five goes to win his maiden and when he did he did it well enough and most importantly over this trip. It is pretty hard to tell when a maiden is ready to take the next step and many don’t but this one has been improving with his home work and had been improving with each race and as he stepped up in trip.
Bred by the trainer he is by Local Hero a son of Niagra and out of the great Distant Cousin and is probably the best foal that sire has produced so far.

2nd Test The Party Code Mb Stables Velazquez J R

Taken back from the wide draw he ran on really well to be second justifying in some way as to why his new owner paid $250 for him last month. A pretty consistent sort he hasn’t had the best luck with the draw so far in his career and i feel there is more to come should that luck change.

3rd Gilgo Beach D J C Racing Stables Mena M

The winners stable companion he ran on really well for third in a career best run. A similar prep to his stable companion he looks a nice sort and has now proved he can race at this level.

4th Into Pieces Mb Stables Davis D

Stalked a fairly good pace and had nothing left when the whips came out. A fair effort but looks a more natural closer than a speed horse.
