Three Year Olds and Up
Eight runners have been entered up for this years running of the grade three Singspiel Stakes over this turf course here at Woodbine Racetrack. Tough looking field that there is in here and it looks like a pretty good race on paper. Let’s take a look at the field.
1. Moscow Court (25-7-5-3 $453.120), trained by Wolfs Den
And to the first horse that we come across right here and this horse is coming into this race off of a fourth place finish in a wide open allowance race here at Woodbine. He ran a good race in there but I don’t see him really standing much of a chance in here though.
2. Americas Best (7-1-0-2 $55.040), trained by La Canada Racehorses
Now to the first three year old in the field right here and this horse is coming into this race off of a third place finish in a first level allowance race at Santa Anita. He did not run too bad that day but this is a big step up in class and I just do not see him standing much of a chance.
3. Sweet Son (33-7-7-4 $919.950), trained by Oval Express Farms
The old gelding in the field right here will be making his thirty fourth career start when he goes to the post right here. He is coming off of a pace setting sixth place finish in the grade one Shoemaker Mile. I don’t think he is a big fan of the distance though.
4. Magne Account (18-6-4-2 $108.950), trained by RNP Stables
This next horse in the field is coming into this race off of a win in a Pennsylvania bred claimer going five furlongs. Now he is going to stretch out an extra seven furlongs and go up in the ranks to the graded stakes level. Not a horse I’d pick to win but I have seen crazier things here.
5. A P Sundown (13-3-3-4 $95.000), trained by Fractious
Well here is a horse that is coming into this race with only one career start at a mile and a half and it was a three length win in an allowance race at Parx. I think that this might be his distance but still not sure if he is good enough to beat these types of runners.
6. Sargeant Major (9-2-3-1 $82.940), trained Arq Racingfarms
Another three year old in the field right here and this one is coming into this spot off of a fourth place finish in the grade three Pennine Ridge. He was coming late that day so maybe the stretch out to the mile and a half will benefit him. Maybe a longshot chance.
7. Z Modest One (7-1-1-2 $58.280), trained by Gdp Inc
Once again we come across another three year old that is in the field and this horse is coming off of a gate to wire win here in a maiden special weight at Woodbine. He has a lot of early speed so if he gets to the front and slows them down he might have an upset chance.
8. Laff All Day (12-4-3-1 $234.050), trained by Maxmillion Farm
And now the final runner in the field and maybe my top selection right here. He ran a very fast closing fourth in the grade three Louisville Handicap last time. I think if he can run that same type of race in here he will have a pretty good chance to win this dash.
Summary
A decent field of eight runners here and I think my top choice is going to be the outside runner Laff All Day. He ran a pretty strong race last time and I think if he runs that same race in here he will be very tough to beat. Good luck to all in the field.
