The License Fee – NG
4/28/19
BEL Race 2 6F – Turf
Purse $125.000
Four Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares
Well a very small field of four filly and mare turf sprinters have been lined up for the License Fee here at Belmont Park. It is a very small field for a nice purse but the four runners that are in the race are pretty evenly matched so it will still be a good race I think. Let’s take a look at the field.
1. Sneaky Opus (6-2-0-1 $103.430), trained by Drabfantasy
The first filly in the field right here is coming off of a stakes win against New York breds on the dirt. She won nicely that day and also won the race before that which was a maiden special weight on the turf at Fair Grounds. She seems to have quite a bit of talent and she should be pretty tough in here.
2. Get Back Up (31-8-4-6 $335.130), trained by Hambletonian Stable
This next runner in the field is the most experienced mare in the field and she has been running pretty good lately. She ran first in a wide open allowance at Parx in her last start and she ran a big race that day. I think she will have a pretty good chance in this spot if she runs her race.
3. The Squaw (19-3-4-4 $209.980), trained by Team 7 Illusions
And this next filly right here is coming into this race off of a tiny lay off. Her last start was a second place finish in the Mardi Gras Stakes at Fair Grounds. She ran a big race that day and if she runs that type of race in here she will be tough to beat. She is my top pick in the field.
4. Comfortable (19-5-5-3 $300.290), trained by Mb Stables
And the final runner in this very small field is the filly right here. She is coming into this race off of a fourth place run in an optional claimer at Santa Anita. She did win the SSM F/M Turf Sprint earlier this year so she has some class. I think she has a good chance to win like all the rest.
Summary
Although this is a very small field it is very evenly matched between all four of these. I am going to take the three The Squaw as my top choice because I think that she is in the best form out of all them. Any one of the four could win though and I wouldn’t be surprised however it shakes out.
