Korbut from the Calia Stable looks for win number eight at The Fairgrounds Saturday as she takes on only four other rivals for the LCD Ladies crown. On paper, Korbut looks to have only one main danger in Impactful Rain from T Boy Racing. The top two, both four-year-old fillies, look to be in a match race here betting wise as the other three horses combined have only three wins between them, all of those fillies have obviously only broken their maidens, with two of them also being three-year-olds. Neither of the top two are speed horses, but still, no matter how the jockeys are instructed it’s impossible to not see them opening up late on the rest of the field. The effort and number earned by Korbut in her last suggests that she will pounce first and give “Rain” a target late. It is a horse race, but don’t look for a miracle here in trying to get away from the top two. With all the State Bred races showing and money earned, “Rain” might be the public choice in the end and the race could go either way when they do it on the track.
Of the rest:
Bronze Studio from Asgar has never been two turns but has been effective both times she has been on turf. Unless she can’t get the distance, she will complete the trifecta.
Oregon Trail from Threshold has gone two turns on turf in her last three starts, so she won’t be caught off guard with the request today. A third place here by the three-year-old would be a morale victory.
Sincerely Tough also from Asgar draws the rail as she tries two turns for the first time Saturday. If she wants the distance, she might surprise a couple here. Also looks to be praying for rain.
