13 GP The GP Oaks (GII) [KYO]
$250.000 3yoF 1 1/16m Dirt 122lbs
Down to Hallandale Beach and another big race on the road to the KYO, this is the GP Oaks (GII), a race that Mb Stables has dominated in recent history, winning seven of the last ten races… can he do it again? I’m actually taking Agapova as my top selection… The BC Juv F (GI) champion has had an interesting road since, making her ’24 debut on the sod where she was fourth vs. Alw types, but return to better form when moved back to the main track in the Alexandra (GII) at FG, where she closed well to be the runner-up on a wet surface (her first trip over a muddy track). The post does her no favors, but her best gets it done. Beach Towel is one of my fav sophomore fillies and I’ll land her in the second spot for this one. She never seems to run a bad race, and while she never seems to flash anything in the am gallops, she just brings home money like a good girl should. If we are talking about this race, we have to mention Mb Stables so let’s give Soho Doubt the third spot… breaking from the rail, and a propensity to shot speed, maybe the big barn just cuts her lose and …well, you know how that can go around here.
