Firefish Prevails in Photo at Mrs Revere

Mrs Revere (Grade 2)- $300.000 Purse
CD- For Fillies Three Years Old
One Mile and One Sixteenth on the Turf
November 28, 2025

Firefish made her debut this August, so she is still looking to make a name for herself amongst three-year-old fillies, but she is certainly on the right track in doing so. The Mrs Revere was just her fifth career race, and her second graded start. While the first one did not go well, this one certainly did, as she came from off the pace to prevail in a very tight three-way photo for the win. We’ll see next year just how much more she is capable of, and Team 7 Illusions will be happy to take this ride. It’s the first time that the trainer has won the Mrs Revere, and that is also true for jockey G Corrales. Congratulations to them! The winning race time was 1:39.98, which is in the top half of such times for this stake. Here’s a look at how it happened:

(1/4 Mile- :23.34)- Maxmillion Farm’s Barewolf will take the lead and show the way around the opening turn being clear by a length. She has three stalkers right behind her, with Sea Of Galilee, trained by Winning Link Stables, having the upper hand amongst them while on the outside. Third on the rail is the longest shot on the board, TwinTowersRacing’s Stink Eye, while Bears Stable’s Rain Rattle runs right between them. It’s a length and a half to the Royalty Stables- trained Ava in fifth, while our eventual winner from Team 7 Illusions, Firefish, can see them all in front of her. She’s scored as being five off the pace.

(½ Mile- :46.90)- After half a mile, Barewolf is still out in front, and leading by a length. Sea Of Galilee, from the outside, begins to inch a little further away from Stink Eye and Rain Rattle, and would be positioned well in the backstretch to make a run if she wanted. Ava is two lengths behind them, and then we have Firefish, who is just waiting for her time to strike later on and in content to remain at the rear of the field.

(Top of Stretch, 1.8F To Go)- Barewolf is the leader at the top of the turn but will get a challenge from Sea Of Galilee as they begin to make their way around it. These two are level with one another until reaching the top of the stretch. Rain Rattle is maintaining her spot, still in third by a length, but Stink Eye is dropping out of it. At the back of the field, G Corrales asks Firefish for more response, and he will get it as the filly catches and passes Ava with her sights now on those in front of her.

(Finish- 1:39.98)- Firefish continued to make progress, and with a furlong to go, she was in fourth, and about two lengths from the leaders. Up front, it was still Barewolf and Sea Of Galilee running evenly with one another with Rain Rattle trying to get closer to them. Approaching the wire, Sea Of Galilee would begin to prevail on Barewolf, and while Firefish was continuing to close in, she was running out of time. She would end up splitting the top two, but no one would know immediately who had the upper hand as a three-way photo for the win would be required. When examined, it would show that Firefish had the head bob on Sea Of Galilee for the win, and that one did similar to Barewolf for second. Rain Rattle was a length back in fourth, followed by Ava and Rain Rattle.

About The Winner- Firefish, trained by Team 7 Illusions and ridden to victory by G Corrales, is a three yar old filly by Fire N Fury and is out of Ravish. She was bred in Florida by Mb Stables as a third quarter two-year-old and was acquired by Team 7 Illusions while she was still unraced for just $3.340 in the December 2024 auction. Congratulations to the connections! The win is her third in five starts, her second stake win and first graded win. Her career earnings are now $326.800.
