6 FG LCD Ladies
$100.000 3yo&Up F&M 1 1/16m Turf 3yo 121lbs Older 123lbs +penalties
A very small field of five ladies will be headed to post for the LCD Ladies at FG on Saturday, and it’s rather disappointing to see the light turn out for this day of LA-bred stakes, some of them not even drawing enough entrants to ‘go’. I’m going with Cp Chosen Farley as the top choice as she checks off many of my boxes… won last out, won over this track this season, won both of her LA-bred races this season… I think you see where I’m going. I’ll also look for Party In the Brig to run well today, and she’s another with an LA-bred win this season, and that was a stakes at LAD. We have a few with classy back stories, and they could rekindle the old flame, so it should be a fun one to watch.
Here’s The Field –
|
Say Bye Bye | T Boy Racing | Murrill M | 121 | 8/1 |
Three wins as a 2yo, but she’s still looking for her first win for the ’22 season. She’s been close in a number of races including the SUN Oaks but running last of six in a LA-bred $50.000 claimer is somewhat of a red flag. She was tagged out of that race and now makes the first start for the new barn vs. state-bred stakes foes. She’s going to need to find some of that old magic.

Painville | Maletto | Parker D L | 123 | 6/1 |
Purchased from the Sept Auction and won an Alw last out, her second start for the new barn, which was her first win since Aug of ’20. She’s another that was close in a number of big races, and the prior owner thought enough of her to enter her in the BC Juv F Turf (GI). Let’s see if she can keep it going off of that last out win.
|
Party In The Brig | Mo Mentum Farm | Geroux F | 125 | 7/2 |
Three wins this season, including a victory vs similar at LAD taking the LA Cup Distaff, where she went wire to wire and won by two. She’s been facing graded types since then with minimal success, a fifth in the Lady Marathon (GIII) at KD and the Goldikova (GII) at SA. She was also last of twelve in the Rodeo Drive (GI), also in SoCal, so she may be glad to get back to LA-bred competition.
|
Queen Cake | Alydar Stables | Loveberry J | 125 | 6/1 |
Was claimed back in Apr of this season and had a win in the River Memories along with a pair of runner-up efforts vs Alw types, then sold at the Sep Auction. She made a single start for this outfit in the Debunda at PRX where she was last of eight as the 2/1 favorite. Obviously, she needs to bounce back today.
|
Cp Choosen Farley | Angelos Stable | Hebert T J | 123 | 5/2 |
Three wins this season and two of those came vs. LA-bred Alw types. She also won an Alw race at PRX in her most recent trip to the starting gate, so she’s on her toes right now. She won over this strip back in Jan, and was fourth in open stakes company here, so I think she likes the going. I like her.
