A small field of five fillies will be headed to the post on Saturday afternoon and we look at the field for The Empire Distaff, to be run at a mile and an eighth here at BEL.  You probably get time of me touting Mb Stables horses but when you win stakes races like pigeons eat popcorn, well… that’s where you end up.  No reason to deviate from that here as Broken Niner looks to be any type of horses, winning both starts by a combined ten lengths and really never being given a challenge.  This looks like a perfect spot to go for black type… but note that both of those wins came on soft turf, so is she a specialist?  I think she could win if they ran the race in the parking lot.  I’ll put Giveaway in the bottom end of my exacta, off of her last out win facing similar at SAR.  She’s won half of her six lifetime starts, so she has to be given a big look.
