Great Lady M Stakes (GII) |
$200.000 4yo&Up F&M 6 1/2f Dirt |
Very consistent filly that goes out and brings home a check at every asking. She was third on SSM Day and third at CD in an over night stakes. If there’s any knock on her, it’s that she just seems to get a bit weary in the late stages of her races… even that win at RP saw a six length lead shrivel down to three at the finish. Still, this race fits her.
She’s been one-two in eight of nine starts, and there just isn’t much bad you can say about her. She closed well to be second last out over at SUN in a NM-bred stakes and had won five in a row prior to that race. You get the idea… she’s a runner, but can she handle the step up to graded company?
Hasn’t won since switching barns back last year when she sold at the Jun ’15 Auction for $33.330. But she’s been bring home checks on a regular basis and certainly seems like a horse that may be setting on a break-out kind of a race. She was fourth v. graded horses at WO last year, and only beaten a length on that afternoon. Give her a look.
Was laid off from Sep of ’15 until the end of Jan and has come back just as tough as ever. She won her come back race and was just taken down at the wire in a GIII affair at SA in her most recent. She’s a tough horse from a tough barn and you have to think she will be in the mix here today.
Her last two starts have been turf springs but she’s not stranger to graded dirt races. Closed will to be fourth in the BC FM Spring (GI) so that tells you right there that she has a ton of class and this could be a spot for her… after all, she is the defending champion.
