What this field lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality. You could make a case for almost every horse in this field.

1 Hollywood Romantic (D J C Racing Stables)

This four-year-old filly has been burning up the track in allowance company in 2023, but she hit a brick wall in her last start when she tried to step up to state-bred stakes level in the Critical Eye at BEL. That was at 1 1/16 mile. She will shorten up here for her next try at that level and it could be all the help she needs to get a piece of the purse.

2 Lonely (Ace Racing Stable)

Another one having a brilliant 2023. Never worse than second in six starts this year, she comes in riding high on a three-race winning streak that includes the $50.000 Cactus Flower at TUP. Look for a big effort from her, and a win wouldn’t be a surprise.

3 Mercy Authority (Team 7 Illusions)

Just changed hands for $150.000, this filly just missed a win in the NY-bred $100.000 Broadway back in February. Since then, she has had some ups and downs, but she comes to this race off an allowance win at LS. Has the potential to get the job done. We’ll see if she lives up to it.

4 Tunted (Night Rider Stables)

Five-year-old mare looking for her first win this year. In fact, you’d have to go back to February 22 for her last trip to the winner’s circle. She’ll have to step it up to compete in this field.

5 Bad Senorita (Luz International)

Seven-year-old mare still going strong with a win in the $100.000 NY-bred Biogios Rose three starts back. In her last start, she finished second in the NY-bred Critical Eye Handicap at 1 1/16 mile. She should be coming from off the pace, and a good trip could get her to the winner’s circle.
