   2   GP   The FL Sire Stakes – Affirmed       

$200.000     2yo – Foaled in FLA      7f  Dirt         118lbs  + penalties 

SoFla and GP are the venue for some up-and-coming youngsters, and we look at the field for The FL Sire Stakes – Affirmed, a seven furlong test on the main oval.  I’m probably going down a path that many will shake their head at, and goodness knows that I’m not a great handicapper of the 2yo races… but, I really like Axon in this one.  He broke maiden here at first asking then just missed v. Alw foes at SAR on a wet surface.  He’s been off since July, but I think he has some real talent and gets the job done.  The probably favorite is Black War, off back-to-back wins, and get two extra pounds for that stakes win at BTP.  He’s proven to be a handy purchase out of the Sept Auction for a ham sandwich… add in those sharp am gallops and I think we see a very nice horse.  The Card sees it a bit different, so you may want to look at those selections if you are headed to the windows… I’m headed to Yard House for a chilly.
