4 GP The FL Sire Stakes – My Dear
$400.000 2yoF 1 1/16m Dirt 118lbs
FL-bred freshmen fillies will be the question in this one, as we look at the field for the FL Sire Stakes – My Dear, going a mile and a sixteenth here in Hallandale, and I don’t know if the bigger question is the weather or my handicapping. Mb comes with a duo of tough horses and I put Siouxbiscuit on top in this one. She has looked good winning both of her starts, both over this track… no reason to look elsewhere, for me. I do like Mind Game, and I think she is going to be a heck of a racehorse, so… you know me and these races… bet everything else!
Here’s The Field –

Mirepoix | Alabarda Stable | Ortiz J L | 118 | 8/1 |
Perfect so far, breaking maiden at first asking at PEN, then came back to take down Alw foes on a wet track, and that could be important today. Closed in the first start, wire to wire in the second… evidently she can run anywhere.

La Roo | Our Athletes | Feliciano R | 118 | 7/2 |
Hasn’t been off of the board in four starts, breaking maiden over this track, then was second in the FLS Susan, so no reason to think that she won’t be a major factor today. Add in the solid am gallop getting ready for this one, and you see a horse that can-do!
|
Sapphire Falls | Mo Mentum Farm | Husbands P | 118 | 6/1 |
Broke maiden at PID in her second start then came back to be third in an Alw race at MTH, and now changes hand for this one. The new connections have been running well, and they know a good horse when they see one. She could be any type.
|
Tactfully | Mb Stables | Rendon J | 118 | 5/1 |
She was 1/2 in her first three starts vs. maidens, breaking maiden at WO, but has struggled a bit vs. stakes company, running seventh in the Schuylerville (GIII) at SAR, then sixth and fourth vs. similar/FLA-bred stakes company… both of those as the favorite. Can she turn it around today?
|
Mind Game | Arindel | Garcia Mar | 118 | 9/2 |
This one is still a maiden, but don’t let that stop you from liking her… Just missed at SAR vs MSW in the first start for this outfit, then was fourth in the Spinaway (GI) last out… on a wet track. Did I mention the weather?
|
Siouxbiscuit | Mb Stables | Baird E T | 118 | 7/5 |
Nothing bad to say about this one as she broke maiden at first asking then ran down similar in the FSS Susan, taking that by three-quarters of a length at 13/1 odds. I don’t think you get anything close to that today… but she’s still the one to beat, in my eye.
