It was a great day for Asgar who took three of the claiming titles today including this one with arguably the bravest of them. Carrying a penalty he continued an amazing seasons record of recording 4 wins and winning none of them by further than a neck, his heart must be as big as a house. Taking advantage of his draw he started well and got right up into the battle for the lead which he took and extended through the turn and into the stretch and with a furlong to run looked home. However the extra weight started to weigh him down and he had to dig deep to score by a nose in a thrilling finish.

The draw was tough for him today but he managed to get into the second group and looked to have found a good enough position to win from. He was a little out paced on the turn but when they straightened out he put his head down and drove to the line just missing by the narrowest of margins. This was a huge effort by the much improved four year old who looks like his days of claimers is over for now.

3rd Sushi Yama Gdp Inc Corrales G

In his last four races he has had spinny legs at the start and run as a closer but today the old click and play style of HRP set him up as a front runner and he did super well to keep on bravely for third. This was a lifetime best effort.

Rounded off the top four with a brave effort from gate ten.
