The FON Stakes has drawn a field of eight to go a mile and a sixteenth, here in Nebraska. So we will handle this one remote because, well, let’s be honest… my pool side handicapping in Myrtle far outweighs Grand Island, NE… which is not an island. Now, me and The Card have are a mile apart, so bet as you see fit… I went with the far outside post and will take Mango Or Mint as the top pick. He’s the only 3yo and I think the 5 pounds could be monumental in this one… He was third in the Mucho Macho Man, won an Alw and was up the track in the Battaglia, but those are TC type horses… this ain’t! I’ll put If I Were King in the second spot, since that one never seems to miss a check. Sixteen times on the board in twenty-three starts, and on the board in all three starts this year… he could be the one to beat.
