RACE 4 AQU |
11/11/2015 |
The Discovery (GIII) |
$150.000 3yo 1 1/8m Dirt |
He’s had a tough year of it, still looking for his first win of the ’15 season. he does have a pair of runner-up finishes, including the King’s Bishop (GI) at SAR, which was an impressive trip. Still, he tired badly at KEE in the Phoenix (GIII) to finish ninth, and sold after that race. He will need to wake up to be part of this one.
Third beaten ten lengths in his only graded attempt. This one is eligible for NW1x, but this is a sharp outfit that usually knows where to place a horse. He did break maiden handily at CD back in may, and closed well at BEL v. an Alw group.
Only one win this season but it was in the Affirmed (GIII) at SA and he was third in the Peter Pan (GII) back in May. He’s been lightly raced and has gaps between starts, but this looks like a spot where he can just out-class them and get the job done.
Has been right there in all of his starts since being picked up for just $8.000 back in June. This is his first start v. black type horses and he did get tired going a mile and an eighth at SAR v. Alw types. Still, he looks like a horse that may be on the improve and could be a factor.
