briefly but – Grade 1 – $300.000
SAR – 7 Furlongs – Dirt
For Fillies Two Years Old
September 3, 2023
Freed From Desire had just one race under her belt coming into this race. Granted it was an impressive maiden win at first asking by three lengths. Even so, few expected the 12-1 shot to take the big prize, but that’s exactly what she did. She spent the first half of the race mid-field but only two lengths behind the winner. With a furlong to run, she made her move, and at the wire she was ¼ length in front.
Complete Order of Finish:
1 Freed From Desire (The A Stable) Won by ¼ length.
2 Sitting Bulls Champ (Mb Stables) Led briefly but was outrun to the wire.
3 Purple Charger (Fractious) Came from off the pace to get third.
4 Rubimaulu (Arindel) Made a big run late to get fourth.
5 Vanessa (Royalty Stables) Trailed early, fifth at the wire.
6 Jawaher (D J C Racing Stables) Lost ground to finish sixth.
7 Cringe (TwinTowersRacing) On or near the lead until the end.
8 I Remember This Day (Pan Farms) Never a factor.
9 I Made A Decision (Jireh) Led early, faded badly.
10 Greek Goddess (Riggins Racing) Never a factor.
Freed From Desire is by Catch A Rising Star x Miss Brazil (Charley Farley) and was bred in NM by the owner, The A Stable. She has two wins in two starts and career earnings of $234.000. Congratulations to Freed From Desire and The A Stable!
