We head down to the most beautiful place on Earth for a couple of grass stakes, the first being a marathon as we look at the field of five for the Sycamore (GIII), going a mile and a half on the lush Lexington lawn.  My picks start and stop with Cp Sad Pain.  They 6yo gelding looks to be in peak form, winning three of his last four starts with a second, three of those vs. stakes company, and he drew off to win at MTH, and that was at today’s distance.  The Green Card put the one and three in the mix, so there’s your exotics, but I will load up on the five and look for an easy cash.

We stay here in Lexington and the turf course, as we look at a field of ten headed post-ward for the QEII Challenge Cup (GI), a mile and an eighth test for the sophomore fillies.  I’m going against my own handicapping practices and taking Sinister City in this one, as I love her win over this track in the Appalachian (GII) back in the sprint… KEE is one of those horses-for-courses tracks, in my eye, so she gets the nod.  Spice Run comes into this one with a three race win streak, and she looked good in that VA Oaks win, so I think she deserves a big look, as well.

We stay on the lawn and look at a group of sprinting spinsters, set to go five and a half furlongs, here at KEE, and we look at the field for the Buffalo Trace Franklin County (GII).  It looks like the Green Card and I see eye-to-eye in this one, and we will be taking horses fresh out of the KD Ladies Turf races as out top selections.  Ewa Beach is a classy mare and hasn’t missed a beat in her 7yo season.  2/2/2 from her six ’23 starts and was third in the KD Ladies Turf Sprint (GII) last month.  She won the Giants Causeway over this course in the spring, so she has my full attention.  Tropical Mama just missed in the KD Ladies Turf (GIII) closing at 45/1 odds… I think they will have her a big closer today, and I doubt you get those odds (I’m shocked you got them last out!), but she has been tough the sprinting distances, and I think she can be in the picture today, as well.  Give Inquisition a big chance today… she’s another that runs hard every single time she goes to the gate.
