We go left coast to The Great Race Place and catch a full field of freshman ladies set to go five furlongs in the FT Debutante.  You know me and baby races, so take it all with a grain of salt, that’s for sure…  I took Silver Springs as my top selection today.  I really like this filly coming back to the main track from that fifth-place finish on the sod, facing stakes horses.  She won on debut and looks like a nice one.  Let’s go to the outside post and put Trinni in the middle of things.  She won nicely here on debut and her works really look sharp to me.  The post doesn’t scare me, and I think you have to give her a big look.  It wouldn’t be a stakes race without the big barn so let’s give a nod to Ghost Flame today.  She won by five at LS in her first start, so it’s obvious that they have another monster on their hands… could it be any other way?

Here’s The Field –

1
   Lady Eros    Hippyheart    Dettori L   119   8/1

Nice win on debut at LS and this one could be trouble today looking at the am gallop over this surface where she worked six panels in eleven and one.  She could be any type and I would not ignore her on any of your tickets.

2
Sister Of The Moon    Avenue Z    Van Dyke D   119   9/2

She got the job done at first asking here in SoCal and doesn’t show a work since April.  I’m sure they are keeping her busy at the farm, but it doesn’t give us a lot of insight.  Still, it’s obvious she can run.

3
   Freaky Storm    Bomberracing    Espinoza V   119   6/1

Claimed as she broke maiden at BEL and she blew that field away on a wet surface.  In front by four then cruised home by a length, but the mud makes you wonder.  She’s been working big, and I think she can make some noise today as well.

4
Ghost Flame    Mb Stables    Bravo J   119   7/2

The big barn appears to have another monster as this one just dominated on debut at LS, getting home by five.  Quick time, top-notch trainer… yeah, she’s a horse you certainly need to use when you wonder to the windows.

5
Elle    Wood Duck Stables    Maldonado E   119   4/1

Another debut winner that got it done over this surface as the 1.40 favorite.  Nice am gallop here on last day of May and she looks like a real runner.  I think you have to put her in the mix and could be any type.

6
Evil In Plain Sight    TwinTowersRacing    Gutierrez Mario   119   4/1

Closed well to win on debut at PRX, and I like the way she came from way back to take the win.  Her works are not especially fast, but she looks like she knows when to turn on the jets.  She will definitely be a horse to watch as the distances increase.

7
   Black Gladiola

 Tockyocky    Vazquez R A   119   6/1

Another first out winner and another that doesn’t show any other am gallops since that win, so we are winging it a bit from a handicapping standpoint.  So, not a lot to go on other than you know she knows how.

8
Silver Springs    South Shore Stables    Ayuso A   119   5/1

Broke maiden over this surface at first asking, then ran a bang-up race at GP on the sod in high money.  Bullet work at DMR getting ready for this one, and I think she deserves a big big look.  I like her a lot.

9
   Storming Sunset    Arindel    Cedillo A   119   5/1

Three starts, two over this track, all on the board and she got the win last out at WO, so she’s your high money earning horse in this one.  She’s gone up against nice horses in all starts, was right in the thick of every race and I’d expect more of that today.

10
Wexler    Aarons Hosses    Gonzalez Ru   119   7/1

Nice win on debut at GG taking down Cal-bred types and shows a steady group of works getting ready for this one.  I didn’t put her on my ticket, and I may come to regret that move because she looks like she can run.

11
Pride Cometh    Mo Mentum Farm    Rispoli U   119   7/1

Another first out winner, getting home over the abbreviated 2f distance at WO where she showed good speed throughout that one.  That was fast time, but it’s hard to read those “halfers” but she has been working well getting ready for this.

12
   Trinni    Allinthegate    Smith M E   119   7/2

Another first out winner over this course, showing good speed, getting home in fast time, and I think she’s a horse that you have to like today.  I love that 6/6 morning move, and this could be a horse that we talk about a lot in the upcoming months.

13
Viking Godess    Jerry Garcia Racing    No Rider   119   AE

Would need some help to draw in, but off of that four-length win in her debut, I’d have to guess the barn would love to be part of the festivities.  Watch her wherever she runs next.

14
Hollidaying    Barcelona Farms    No Rider   119   AE

Another debut winner that will need a couple of scratches to get in here but watch her when she does load into the gate.

15
Mystic Jam    Williams9    No Rider   119   AE

Won at first asking and was just purchased at the Jun 23 Auction for $57.000.  Probably won’t get in today, but she’s a horse to keep on your hot sheet.
