Gate Full in The CC Express

The CC Express – NG
12/7/19
GP Race 10 7F – Dirt
Purse $110.000
Three Year Olds and Up

We are going to line up with a field of fourteen here for the CC Express and this is the cheapest starter claiming price for the sprinters in the Claiming Crown. If a runner has started for a price of $8.00 or less in the past two years they are eligible for this race. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Catholic Boy (16-5-4-1 $67.260), trained by T Boy Racing

First in the runner in the field here and one of the two I have in the field. I have been fortunate with him as he has won four races for me this year and he has ran well for me. I think that last race is a throw out because of the slop. Not sure if he is good enough but I think he can hit the board.

2. Uss Midway (19-4-5-4 $87.690), trained by New Larkhill Stables

Next runner in the field here and this horse is coming into this race off of a second place finish against starter allowance company at Golden Gate. He ran well that day but this is a jump up in class for sure. He usually shows early speed and I think that will be a disadvantage in here.

3. Born To Be Blue (26-6-9-3 $120.970), trained by RNP Stables

Moving on to this horse who is coming into this race off of a good second place finish in a claiming race at Parx. He is in good form and I do think that his late running style will be a good running style to have in this field. If they fall apart up front he will be rolling late.

4. Tough Run (24-5-3-3 $128.240), trained by RNP Stables

Second runner for RNP Stables here and this horse has done all of his recent running long and on the turf. I am not sure how the cutback in distance will work out for him but he does like to come from far off the pace so if they fly up front he should be rolling late.

5. Cold Steel (22-7-4-8 $115.170), trained by Night Rider Stables

Next runner in the field here and he is coming into this race off of a third place finish against West Virginia bred company at Charles Town. He seems to like shorter distance races a little bit so the six furlongs could possibly be stretching it. He liked to show speed so he will have to keep it slow up front to have a shot.

6. Insane Connection (12-2-3-4 $53.270), trained by Threshold

A drop in class got this horse to the winners circle in his last when he came out of an allowance race then ran for a six dollar claiming price. He is another one that likes to show speed in most of his races so he will have to keep it slow up front to have any shot.

7. Geeky Pleasure (30-8-7-6 $228.850), trained by Night Rider Stables

Another one for Night Rider Stables in this field and this horse is coming into the race off of a win against starter allowance company at Charles Town. He is like a few others in here as he likes to show quite a bit of early foot. He brings speed into the race and I think they will fly early.

8. Busts (16-5-2-2 $90.750), trained by The Nuyorican Stable

This horse here is entering this race riding a three race win streak including a stakes win in the Kruytbosch at Turf Paradise which he won by a nose. He has been running very good as of late and if the extra weight does not hurt him too much I think he has a big shot.

9. Pink Party Queen (12-5-3-0 $105.570), trained by Martyparty

Next runner in the field here is trained my the man Martyparty and this runner won a New York bred stakes race two starts back. He has been running very well for this barn and I think that he has a very big shot to win if he brings his best race to these runners.

10. Bandit One (30-10-7-2 $150.460), trained by Arindel

This horse here might have the best form out of any of the runners in this field as he has either won or ran second in his past few. Like a couple of the others he is one who likes to show some early speed in most of his races and with an outside post I’m sure he will be right up near the lead if not on it.

11. Sky Harbor (20-4-6-5 $67.460), trained by T Boy Racing

My other entry in the field here and this horse is coming into this race off of a third place finish in a starter allowance at Turf Paradise. The bad thing with him is that he is a dead closer and he needs a fast pace which I do think he will get in here. He will be flying late that’s for sure.

12. Star Sailer (14-5-1-2 $103.170), trained by Bigking

Here is a horse who I think will be very tough in here if he runs his race especially if he runs back to that first level allowance win he had two race ago. He tried stakes company last time and just did not show much but this is a drop in class and I think he will return to good form in here.

13. Fauna (21-5-6-5 $106.120), trained by Spankys Barn

Now to this runner who looks pretty tough in here but he does have a bad post to overcome. He has changed hands a couple of times so far this year and has ran well in almost every start. I think if he is able to overcome this post he could have a good shot at winning it.

14. Prince Tudor (19-5-6-1 $76.010), trained by Arq Racingfarms

And the final runner in the field here is coming into this race off of a win against first level allowance foes at Finger Lakes. He has been knocking on the door his last few starts and finally got a win last time. He has an unfortunate post to overcome though in here though.

15. Brand Of Charley (17-5-6-3 $56.960), trained by T Boy Racing

Summary

Another big and competitive field for these Claiming Crown races and just like the rest there are a bunch of live shots to win. My top selection is going to go to Pink Party Queen for the Martyparty stable. Good luck to all in the field.
