The FL Sire Stakes – Affirmed $200,000 (Two Year Olds Foaled In Florida)

As stated in the preview this one looked wide open and Wally Gator from Bigking stables passed his acid test with a nice Stakes win, first start off the private purchase after doing well on the other side of the tracks (free side of HRP). The barn is now $15.000 to the good after just one start and will certainly be looking to add to that total shortly. Nice job on the claim and the win, congrats to Bigking!

Soho Danze (Ashwood Farms) sat a good trip and closed well as I expected during the race preview, but just couldn’t match strides with the winner late, still a nice effort for the barn. Resounding (Chili King Stables) ran gritty, also as expected in the preview, but had to settle for third.

Of the rest:

Cero Miedo from Alydar Stables tired as the real running started. I believe this one will be better around two turns.

Healthy Choices from Mb Stables got the fast track he was looking for but just didn’t have enough in the tank to do more than a disappointing 5th place finish.

Speaking of disappointing, Quad Eights from the Maxmillion Farm never was able to get the expected cushion today and shortened stride noticeably when asked the question. I will be checking the vet reports to see if he bled. Hopefully he is ok and just had a bad day at the office.

Letsnotandsaywedid from the Mo Mentum Farm was picked to run last and he didn’t disappoint. For his efforts today his connections promptly gelded him right after the race, as seen on the veterinarian report tonight (Now that’s what I call a real tough day at the office, yikes!). Hopefully the move wakes him up for the connections. Put him on your watch list and expect improvement in his next start.
