Would it be Saturday racing without a DH? nahhhh… but let’s focus on the positives, and there were a bunch of those in Saturday’s Krantz Memorial Stakes. We handed out the exacta, as cold as you’d want
your cold-snacks, and the bigger end of the DH trifecta… not bad. In even better news, Sim Speed Stable nailed down their second stakes win in a short but successful career as a conditioner here at HRP as Gazing Angie, dismissed at 18/1 odds, secured her second stakes score since this outfit put the halter on her. The bay filly covered the mile and a sixteenth in 1:45.48 on the soft FG sod. It was a head back to Saddle Up in second, as that one had the lead in the lane but could not hold off the eventual winner. A long gap of six back to Cracked Actress and Boutique in a dead heat for third. Twenty-one lengths covered the field.
